Steps to Paint a Mora Clock:
Clean the Surface:
Wipe down the clock with a damp cloth and mild soap to remove dirt and oils.
Let it dry completely.
Light Sanding (if needed):
If the clock has a glossy finish, lightly sand it with 220-grit sandpaper for better paint adhesion.
Wipe off the dust with a tack cloth.
Apply Primer (if needed):
If the clock is dark or has stains that may bleed through, use a shellac-based primer.
Let it dry completely.
Apply Base Coat:
Use a soft-bristled brush or foam roller to apply the first coat of paint.
Let it dry and apply a second coat if needed.
Distressing (Optional):
Lightly sand edges and raised details with fine sandpaper to give it an aged look.
Add Details (Optional):
Use a glaze or antiquing wax to enhance carvings and curves.
Hand-paint decorative designs or gold accents for an authentic Swedish touch.
Seal with Wax or Clear Coat:
Use a clear wax for a soft, matte finish or a polyurethane sealer for durability.
Apply with a lint-free cloth or brush and buff if using wax.
